Read how Rooney's Rangitata South Irrigation Scheme is more than harvesting water from the river to increase economic value for the region. It is also giving back with a fish spawning race. This project comprising seven ponds covering 300ha up to 8m deep, is set to provide 16.5 million cubic metres of storage water to 16,000ha of irrigatable farm land.
In this issue you can also find out about the on-farm benefits and job opportunities being created by other projects including the $10.5 million Acton Irrigation Scheme extension, and various dams, farm ponds, border-dyking and an underpass.
Learn from another story about how Rooney Earthmoving completed high quality access foundations, hardstand areas, platforms and drainage for the Fonterra Drier 1 Project on time, to budget, while complying with all consent requirements on an environmentally sensitive green field site on SH73, just east of Darfield.
